Toile & Vichey Quilt

Produced by the Petitpierre factory in Nantes in 1810, this lovely toile depicts 'L'art d'Aimer' - the Art of Love - a theme derived from a poem by Ovid. It is copper plate printed on lightly quilted cotton/linen and backed by a traditional vichey check. This pillow came to us already made up, with a feather insert and hand sewn closure. Truly a piece of history.
