Quilted Toile de Jouy
Produced in 1810 by the Petitpierre factory in Nantes, this lovely toile depicts 'L'art d'Aimer' - the Art of Love - a theme derived from a poem by Ovid. It is copper plate printed on lightly quilted cotton/linen and backed with heavy Belgian linen. A very authentic French piece, great as a statement on its own or in a collection of French pillows.
