Quilted Toile de Jouy
Produced by the Petitpierre factory in Nantes in 1810, this lovely toile depicts 'L'art d'Aimer' - the Art of Love - a theme derived from a poem by Ovid. It is copper plate printed on lightly quilted cotton/linen and backed with heavy Belgian linen. Truly a piece of history.
